Red Bull Salzburg set price tag on Norwegian phenom Erling Braut Haaland
By Quinn Allen
According to Metro UK, The Austrian Bundesliga side have slapped an 86 million euros tag on Haaland, who has been absolutely lethal for Salzburg this term.
Red Bull Salzburg are making it very clear that they don’t want their 19-year old striker Erling Braut Haaland to leave any time soon. With that in mind, they have set a hefty 86 million euros price tag on the Norwegian’s head. Many European giants have shown interest in the youngster who has scored 23 goals already this season throughout all competitions.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with Haaland previously due to his connection with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, previously playing for him back in Norway with Molde. With their recent struggles in the final third and seeing the striker’s spectacular ways this campaign, the Red Devils have reignited their interest in Haaland but would have to make him the second-most expensive signing ever if they were to bring him to Old Trafford in January.
Haaland has scored in all four Champions League fixtures this year, bagging seven goals already in the group stage, including a miraculous hat-trick in the first half of his UCL debut in a 6-2 thrashing of Genk on matchday one. His combination of size, speed, and finishing abilities are making him one of the most sought after young attackers in Europe currently.
Juventus reportedly sent a scout to watch Haaland in Salzburg’s 1-1 UCL draw with Napoli on Tuesday and are seriously interested in the Norwegian sensation. In total, over 20 clubs have watched Haaland play this year, including the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, among others.

According to the Mirror UK, Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund hasn’t actually spoke to any club directly about Haaland, despite all the rumors of his star player leaving the club.
Manchester United seem like the one side who have shown the most interest in his abilities though and the connection with Solksjaer will definitely help United’s chances of bringing Haaland back to his birth country.
Haaland has voiced himself that one day he is keen on playing English football, continuing to say it’s one of the best leagues in the world. His father Alfe-Inge Haaland, a former standout for Manchester City and Leeds, told Talksport that his son will most likely one day play in the Premier League, following in his father footsteps. Haaland was born in England and holds British Citizenship.
Salzburg’s high price tag for Haaland might scare away potential suitors for the January transfer window, but expect the 19-year old in-form striker to end up at a European giant next summer when clubs tend to fork out more money for new signings.
