Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane wants the club to make a midfielder’s signing in January and has come up with five suitable names.

Zinedine Zidane is managing to secure his scrutinized job by getting good results. His side has now scored 15 goals in its last four games and kept five successive clean sheets. Los Merengues’ new man Luka Jovic has gotten off the mark for Real Madrid, while Eden Hazard is also slowly getting back to his brilliant best.

Rodrygo Goes has been sensational right from his first game in the White, while Eder Militao and Alphonse Areola have not let down when given chances. It is fair to say that all five of Zidane’s signings are doing well and settling in nicely into the club. The Frenchman now wants a midfielder in January and has drawn up a five man shortlist, as per Fox Sports.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba tops Zidane’s wish-list, while Christian Eriksen is second in order. The Red Devils’ superstar was close to joining the Blancos in the summer, but nothing materialized of it.

On the other hand, Christian Eriksen was not wanted by Zidane initially since his focus was on Pogba, but the former Juventus man’s demands and Manchester United’s price tag is proving to be exorbitant.

Christian Eriksen has a contract with Tottenham Hotspur until the next summer, but a stagnation in renewing terms with the north Londoners means that the Dane will be free to discuss for a free transfer in January itself for 2020/21. Despite Eriksen being a realistic target, Zidane is not keeping all his eggs in one basket and has three more shortlists.

Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who is also on Barcelona’s radar continues to be monitored by the French coach, while Sporting Lisbon’s attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes is also one of the those who constitute Zidane’s shopping list for January. Finally, Ajax Amsterdam’s Donny van de Beek sneaks into the bottom of the pile.
