Liverpool have made their decision regarding Kylian Mbappe. Manchester United fans might want to close their eyes…

Liverpool have one of the best teams in Europe, perhaps it even the best. They have a world-class goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack. However, one thing they do lack currently is depth in their squad. It has yet to sting them this season but one injury to their front line in particular and they are screwed.

Liverpool’s only backup up top is Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri (who always appears to be injured himself). They also have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana that could do a job out wide but their best position is clearly midfield.

That said, Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen his attack in the January transfer window. He isn’t looking for a backup option though, he is looking for someone that can come in and challenge for a place in the iconic front three. However, much to the fans’ disappointment, that man will not be Kylian Mbappe. However, their second option is no disappointment.

According to Express, Jurgen Klopp has turned his attention to Jadon Sancho. It’s thought that the England international will be involved in a tussle between Liverpool and Manchester United this January. He also has interest from Real Madrid.

Initially, my thoughts were ‘surely Jadon will choose Liverpool. I mean, they are champions of Europe and stand a high chance of repeating this honour this season? They sit top of the Premier League by some distance and are home to some of the best players and manager in Europe.’

But then, it’s important to remember that Sancho once played for Manchester City. He has become close friends with Raheem Sterling on international duty so they will have had chats about how big a decision it is to switch Premier League sides.

Then again, it’s always difficult to turn down Real Madrid anyway. They’re always going to be one of the most attractive clubs in the world and given Gareth Bale’s inevitable departure, there’s only going to be more opportunities for playing time. This could be a crucial factor in Sancho’s decision, especially given his age.

Do you think Liverpool will sign Jadon Sancho this January?
