Real Madrid have decided to offer 120 million euros as well as Karim Benzema in order to land one of their chief targets during the upcoming year.

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is now 31 years old and is starting to reach the end of his peak. However, by looking at his form and consistency, it is difficult to think whether the Whites must rely on him for a few years or start scouting for replacements. By the look of it, they have resorted to the latter choice regarding the Frenchman.

Luka Jovic was brought in from Eintracht Frankfurt over the summer but the Serbia international has been struggling to challenge Benzema for a starting role. Most of it is down to Zinedine Zidane not handing him chances, but from his handful of appearances for the club also, Jovic has just managed to score once so far.

Nonetheless, Los Merengues will be keeping their faith in the lethal striker but will sign a first-team quality player soon. Diario GOL has reported that Zinedine Zidane’s side is eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the summer as rumour has it that the England captain would want to leave in order to expand his trophy cabinet.

Florentino Perez has dealt with the north Londoners for important players like Luka Modric and Gareth Bale in the past by paying heavy prices. Daniel Levy is a notorious businessman so he would probably be hesitant in easily letting go of Kane, but the Real Madrid president is plotting a deal involving Karim Benzema in it plus a transfer fee of 120 million euros.

Zinedine Zidane is clearly against the deal because Karim Benzema has been a loyal servant to the Whites and is a senior figure in the dressing room. The French boss does consider his compatriot an integral part of his plans, and with Big Benz being on track for another 30 goal season, there is no reason why Madrid would want to get rid of him so soon.

Do you think Karim Benzema is worth letting go off to bring in Harry Kane?
