Julian Nagelsmann
The hipsters favourite, Julian Nagelsmann has already seen success during his brief stint at RB Leipzig, building on the impressive progress he made with Hoffenheim since he was appointed manager in 2016.
Nageslmann’s side play an exciting, fast-paced style of football and he has built a reputation for working well with young players and revitalising older ones too.
Arsenal have a really exciting stable of young players on their books at the moment and the way Emery has struggled to get the most out of them will be a concern for the Arsenal hierarchy.
As Nagelsmann showed with former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry, he can extract the best from talented but under-performing youngsters and he is already impressing with the likes of Dayot Upemecano and Ibrahima Konate at Leipzig.
However, he only joined Leipzig this season after waiting almost a year from when the agreement was first made, so you wouldn’t expect him to be looking for a new job just yet.
Furthermore, he was overlooked back in 2018 when Arsenal were first on the hunt for a new head coach and at 32 he will know his opportunity to manage in the Premier League will not be gone if he turns down this opportunity.
Arsenal are also not in the best place in terms of tying down their big names to new contracts, while they do not have the funds to rebuild the squad with big money transfers over night.
There is little doubt that Nagelsmann could be successful given the time at Arsenal, but with Arsenal needing a relatively instantaneous turnaround in fortunes, they may decide to look at someone with slightly more experience of riding out difficult situations.
