Two years since the Brazilian’s departure, Liverpool could be on the brink of finally bringing in the man to replace Coutinho…
During the early parts of the 2017/18 season, there was no question of doubt who Liverpool’s star man was. Despite the prolific Mohamed Salah, it was Philippe Coutinho who lit up Anfield with his silky moves and blindingly quick feet to dazzle the Kop and the Reds supporters who watched with glee.
Of course, that glee would turn bittersweet when the Brazilian made the move to Catalonia in the winter months of January 2018. But quickly it would fade, and it would prove to be the catalyst for Liverpool’s major rise in status over the coming two years.
Coutinho’s departure enabled the purchase of Virgil van Dijk who sured up the Reds’ defence and solidified Jurgen Klopp’s side in order to help them avoid the costly mistakes which had led them to drop points previously.

Now with Van Dijk being a stalwart at the back, and with Liverpool’s front three as dynamic as ever and great solidity in midfield, the Reds only need one last thing to add to the puzzle. That is the return of someone in the same ilk as Coutinho who can breakdown defences that park the bus and who can weave past defenders with ease to create space and find that through ball. Someone who can feed the mercurial power of Salah, Firmino and Mane.
Now it seems Jurgen Klopp has finally found that man in his home country in Germany. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Reds are interested in bringing the Moroccan creative midfielder Amine Harit to Anfield.
Harit has been lighting up the Bundesliga over the past couple of seasons and he is without a shadow of a doubt in Coutinho’s mould. The Moroccan is known for his excellent dynamic dribbling ability and for his uncanny Cruyff turns. He already has 5 goals and 3 assists in 18 games this season and at just 22 years of age, he has plenty of time to develop.
With Klopp a good friend of David Wagner according to Corriere dello Sport and Schalke demanding a more than the favourable price for Harit at just £17 million, a potential deal could certainly be possible.
What do you think would Harit be a good signing for Liverpool?
