Manchester City already know who they want to replace Leroy Sane
By Vince Senick
Manchester City have been rumored to lose winger/midfielder Leroy Sane since the summer of 2019 and the Sky Blues seem to have found his replacement in Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester City are strongly considering French international Kingsley Coman as a replacement for Leroy Sane come summer 2020. Sane was close to leaving City in the summer of 2019 when, former Bayern Munich manager, Niko Kovac told Sport Bild that Bayern were working hard to secure their dream signing.
Leroy Sane, a German international, has been very productive for Manchester City since making a 46.5 million euro transfer from Schalke in 2016. Between the start of the 2016 season through the end of the 2018 season, Sane has appeared in 134 total games and contributed 39 goals, and 45 assists, averaging 2.34 points per game for the Sky Blues.
In 89 Premier League appearances, Sane has put up 2.40 points per game, having contributed 25 goals and 31 assists. The German still has holes in his game as Sane is great at creating changes through his dribbling and movement, but through-balls, and decision making, are really poor when it comes to delivering the ball to teammates.

Sane is coming off a torn ACL, that sees him out until early 2020, so the talks with Bayern Munich have slowed on the talented winger, but that does not mean Manchester City has not been actively working to find a replacement for the German come the summer transfer window. The replacement could ultimately be a swap with Bayern Munich as the Bavarians are the home to talented French international Kingsley Coman.
Coman, a 23-year-old forward/winger, has played for Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich is his six professional years, so he will have no issues sliding into a club like Manchester City.
The Bayern Munich winger has explosive speed and acceleration, exceptional vision, and is a gifted dribbler who seems to have figured out how to get the ball into the back of the net after struggling his first few years as a professional.
Kingsley Coman has appeared in 16 games this season for Bayern Munich and has contributed three goals and five assists, good for 2.06 points per game. Last season, Coman broke out for 10 goals and seven assists in 30 appearances, good for 2.47 points per game.
According to Transfermarkt, Leroy Sane has a current market value of 114 million euros, while Kingsley Coman currently sits at a 68.40 million euro valuation.
Both of these 23-year-olds are immensely talented, but Leroy Sane has done it consistently, at a high level, for Manchester City over the years and it would be a significant downgrade if City lose Sane and replace him with Coman. Kingsley Coman still seems like a work in progress and for a team like City does not seem like the perfect fit at the moment.
