CAM: Aaron Ramsey 6/10

We’ve been waiting a while to see Aaron Ramsey back in Juve’s starting lineup and what we got in his return was unfortunately disappointing. He did seem to spark the squad early in the match when they created some early chances (which they hadn’t done in weeks), but he just wasn’t able to make a difference in the match.  He could still need to acclimate to the system at Juve as he has rarely appeared as anything other than a substitute, but I was expecting more from him in this match after how well he performed for Wales during the international break. Hopefully he’ll stay in the starting lineup and start to pick things up soon.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo 6.5/10

It’s hard to believe that Cristiano Ronaldo has gone scoreless across 2 matches against Atletico Madrid this season. Over the course of his career, Ronaldo has found a ton of success against his former crosstown rival, but even a matchup against them couldn’t bring the best out of him this time around. It has been a while since Ronaldo has really made an impact for Juve this season and I’m surprised he wasn’t subbed off instead of Dybala. I don’t know what’s going on with Ronaldo, but it’s troubling that a Champions League match against Atletico wasn’t even enough to bring out his best.

ST: Paulo Dybala 8.5/10

I’ve seen the replay of Paulo Dybala’s goal about 30 times already and I still can’t believe he actually scored. At the time he took that free kick, I couldn’t even believe he took the shot. It was yet another big moment for a resurgent Dybala and helped Juve overcome another lackluster performance from Ronaldo. Something tells me we’re going to see Dybala get a new contract soon with a big raise and a bigger release clause.
