By John Vaccaro
Federico Bernardeschi 6.5/10
Federico Bernardeschi nearly managed to score in this match, but he still didn’t look like somebody who could hold down a starting job for a top team. There’s a clear drop off between what he offers

and what we know Ramsey can do. I wish Juve didn’t need to make this substitution to preserve Ramsey.
Gonzalo Higuain 6/10
It would appear that Gonzalo Higuain doesn’t have as much impact as a substitute when Juve isn’t desperate for a goal. He didn’t get much of a chance to make a difference in this match, but he should get a shot this weekend.
Sami Khedira Inc.
I don’t know why Sarri bothered to sub Khedra into this match at all, but at least the appearance was short enough for him to not do any damage (outside of wasting a perfectly good scoring chance).
Manager: Maurizio Sarri 9/10
I’ve been tough on Maurizio Sarri lately, but he got almost everything right in this match. He finally benched Sami Khedira (but loses some credit for still using him as a sub) and got Aaron Ramsey back into the starting lineup. I didn’t agree with the decision to start Danilo, but that can be excused because it worked out. The squad also seemed to have a bit more of a spark early in the match than we had seen in the last month. While there are still some things that need to be fixed with this squad, clinching first place in a Champions League group with a match to spare is always impressive and Juve got a win over an Atletico team that is a proven winner. All that I’ve been hoping for out of Juve lately is progress and I think we finally saw it on Tuesday.
