Barcelona: Five players who could replace Lionel Messi
By Bence Bocsak
2. Neymar
The Brazilian was reported to have been tipped earlier this week by Messi himself as the man to replace the Argentinian attacker at Barcelona. According to a report by France Football Messi told Neymar after Barcelona’s humiliating 4-0 defeat to Liverpool that in ‘two years time’ he will leave the club and Neymar ‘will take over.’
Having already spent a successful period with the Catalans, Neymar would certainly feel comfortable with a return to the Nou Camp. The fans seemed to have forgiven him following his shock departure to PSG and with the promise to deliver even more than he did during his previous spell as well as club legend Messi’s backing, the fans would surely welcome Neymar back with open arms.
Neymar is without a shadow of a doubt the third best player in the world behind Ronaldo and Messi right now and the Brazilian winger could definitely light up the Catalan side once more with his silky moves and flamboyant skills.
Neymar can provide Barcelona with everything Messi is currently doing right now. The Brazilian is prolific just like Messi and he definitely has the influence and the mettle to score key and vitals goals when the times are tough. Having captained Brazil previously he also had the leadership skills and the potential to lead Barcelona into a new golden age.
Of course bringing Neymar back to Barcelona will be a hard task, but there is a definite need for the Brazilian’s presence, especially once Messi departs and thus the Catalans should spare no expenses in order to acquire his services.
