With the festivities right around the corner, Arsenal fans will be excited to embark in the January transfer window…

It’s a new era for Arsenal as a football club. They previously sacked manager Unai Emery on the basis that he was not the man to bring Arsenal forward. A consistent string of bad performances and only winning four league games all season convinced the board that enough was enough.

Now, Freddie Ljungberg will take charge at Arsenal at least temporarily. The departure of Emery has restored the faith for the Emirates Stadium faithful and they are excited for new pastures. It’s thought that he will receive a helping hand from another ex-Arsenal player, Per Mertesacker.

Here are five reasons why Arsenal fans should be excited about the upcoming transfer window…

1. Freddie knows what to do

If anyone knows the core fundaments of a great Arsenal team, it’s Freddie Ljungberg. I mean, he was a figurehead in one of the greatest football teams the world has ever seen; the Arsenal invincibles. He is part of the reason why many fans still have hope their club can recycle their former success.

Ljungberg cares about the club deeply and he will push the hierarchy to invest money this January. He will be looking to replicate the success that Wenger had in signing players from abroad and building an invincible core. I’m sure he will already have a few players in mind.
