8. Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian has become a fan favourite at Anfield since his arrival in 2015. Initially bought as an attacking midfielder from Hoffenheim by Brendan Rodgers, Firmino came to life under Jurgen Klopp when the German opted to play him in a false number nine role.
Firmino made that position his own with his silky moves and samba flicks. Firmino’s abundant energy on the pitch and his willingness to track back from the attack and chase down loose balls has injected the Reds with a true fighting spirit and has allowed the club to play with a real fervent energy under Klopp.
Firmino has featured in one Europa League final and two Champions League finals since his arrival at the club and has made over 200 appearances scoring over 70 goals.
9. Sadio Mane
Many Reds fans wrote off Mane as ‘just another signing from Southampton’ and questions marks were raised over the seemingly high fee Liverpool paid for him. It is fair to say Mane has duly proven those doubters wrong.
Mane’s pace, power and ability to beat a man at ease in one on one situations has made him one of the most formidable wingers in world football. Since he signed for the Reds in 2016, Mane has scored over 70 goals for the club and has undoubtedly been one of Liverpool’s best performers.
This season especially has seen Mane take his game to new heights and he has been the club’s most dependable players coming out with late and crucial goals.
10. Mohamed Salah
The Egyptian has only been at the club since the summer of 2017 but his incredible record at Liverpool justifies his selection as the final player on this list for the 2010s decade. After his unsuccessful spell at Chelsea in the Premier League prior to coming to the Reds, there were some concerns about whether Salah would be able to make it at Liverpool.
Those concerns were shrugged aside after Salah endured a sensational first season in which he scored 44 goals in all competitions for the club. The following season he helped the Reds to a Champions League win and this season he will hope to help Liverpool secure their first Premier League title.
Salah is the perfect final addition on this list with over 80 goals for the Reds during the 2017-2019 he deserves to be up there as one of the best players to play for Liverpool this decade.
