Cristiano Ronaldo has been far from the world’s best player since leaving Real Madrid, a move which he now regrets making.
The footballing world went into a shock when Real Madrid announced that they had sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in July 2018. There were rumours surrounding the Portugal international’s exit from Spain for weeks prior to his transfer, but everyone thought that it was merely a puff from the media as was the case almost every year.
Juventus paid only 112 million euros to the Whites, which was a pretty reasonable transfer fee for somebody of Cristiano Ronaldo’s calibre and more so in an inflated market such as today’s. But not everyone is comforted and pampered elsewhere as much as they are in Madrid and Cristiano is nobody different to the treatment, ABC reports.
Cristiano Ronaldo privately regrets leaving Real Madrid for the Italian giants and has discussed the same with his former colleagues from the Spanish capital and family. The Portuguese has realised that he took the wrong decision by switching pastures and starting from scratch at 33 years of age in the world’s most defensive league.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes was not in much favour of his client transferring to another club when the player made him aware of his wishes in February 2018, but the 34 year old was too stubborn with his desires and did not like the fact that Real Madrid did not pay him what Barcelona were paying to Messi or PSG are paying to Neymar.
Los Merengues made it clear that they were offering their best to the best player in their history, but they wouldn’t go out of the way to spoil their wage structure or pay the kind of money that a club run and funded by the Qatari-state would. Ronaldo’s ego was hurt, but from a footballing point he now feels that he must have stayed at the Bernabeu.
His first season in Italy saw Ronaldo give his all for a subpar Juventus side in the Champions League, when he ended up scoring all of the Serie A giant’s goals in the knockouts. This time out, he is working with a very rigid manager and has not been able to replicate his scoring form like that from his Portugal outings or Real Madrid days, for Juventus.
