It seems Barcelona and Ernesto Valverde have set their sights on a young defender with a promising future career ahead of him.

Ernesto Valverde and Barcelona are always looking at options to strengthen their defensive line up with the Catalans currently suffering a poor run of form in terms of conceding goals and looking shaky at the back.

It is clear the Catalans need an infusion to give more stability for the club in the defensive areas. According to RMC Sport in France via Get Football News France Barcelona are eyeing up the hugely talented prospect Lenny Lacroix as an ideal addition to their defensive line.

Lenny Lacroix is just 16 years of age and a France U17 international. The young French defender is currently at his local club Metz who are renowned for bringing through some of the most exciting prospects in European football. Names include players such as Sadio Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly who both came through the ranks at Metz before establishing themselves as the elite footballers they are regarded as right now.

It is Kalidou Koulibaly who Lenny Lacroix hopes to emulate with the current Napoli man playing in the same position as Lacroix himself. Lacroix will look to Kalidou Koulibaly as inspiration and a move to Barcelona could be the start of a very promising career for the young French youth international.

Barcelona will have to fight for Lenny Lacroix’s services with RMC Sport reporting that Juventus are also interested in the young defender and could also make a bid to bring the Metz player to the Italian club.

Of course if Lacroix ends up at Barcelona he will not be an immediate solution to Ernesto Valverde’s defensive problems but he could be an astute signing for the future and at La Masia he would be at the best place to hone his skills to become the ideal Barca defender.
