4. Herbie Kane and Caoimhin Kelleher to leave?

With the January transfer window it will provide some of Liverpool’s young stars to depart the club in search of more senior experience. Two of the brightest talents at the club are former Bristol City midfielder Herbie Kane and Irish talent Caoimhin Kelleher.

Both Kane and Kelleher have impressed whilst playing for the club’s U23s and for the senior side in the EFL League Cup this season with Kelleher making some great saves especially in the tie against MK Dons. Kane himself has captained the U23s on multiple occasions and has been in good form. Last season Herbie Kane had a great season on loan at Doncaster Rovers in League One.

Herbie Kane was linked with spells on loan and permanent moves away during the summer but Liverpool did not find the appropriate deal for the young midfielder. Come January things might change and interest in Kane might be sparked from Championship and League One sides once more.

Kane is clearly too good for the U23s and he needs to be playing regular football at a level which is more suited to his talents.

Meanwhile for Kelleher this could be the 21-year-old goalkeeper’s first loan move away from the Reds. The Irish stopper has hugely impressed when given the opportunity for Liverpool’s first team in pre-season and in the League Cup and he will surely have some suitors to take him on loan in January.

With Liverpool currently in possession of a great deputy in Adrian, the move could suit both clubs the best as Kelleher could earn some vital experience, improve and further hone his skills. He could come back as a much stronger player and even better than before.
