5. Marquee signing

Recently Daily Mirror journalist Dave Maddock has claimed in an interview with LFC4Arab via the Empire of the Kop that he expects Liverpool to make a ‘big signing in January’

Maddock claimed:

‘I believe there will be a couple of big signings, maybe one in January and another in the summer. They will stick to the model of finding players aged between 19-24, with potential to get better. They’d still cost a lot of money though.’

Maddock is a fairly reliable journalist so the news of him making such big claims ahead of the January transfer window will come as huge excitement to the Anfield faithful. Though the Daily Mirror journalist did not make any concrete remarks about who the player could be there are plenty of players who with the bracket and mould of what Maddock has described who Liverpool have been linked with recently.

These players include Houssem Aouar, Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho and Kylian Mbappe. It is fair to say any of those names would be highly welcomed at Anfield and could strengthen the Reds to a great extent in their quest to win the Premier League title.

Liverpool fans will certainly hope Maddock’s prediction comes true and with Klopp hinting at possible transfer dealings and the lucrative Nike kit deal set to be confirmed soon there is no reason why it cannot.
