Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly snubbed the opportunity to join Real Madrid as he is waiting for one of the Manchester clubs to offer him the managers position…

Mauricio Pochettino has been one of the most important figures in Tottenham’s recent history and has contributed in heaps to make the Spurs one of the strongest teams in Europe. Leading the North London cub to the Champions League finals last season whilst knocking out teams like Manchester City and Ajax, Pochettino gave the Spurs fans a glimpse of the great things the club would achieve in the following seasons. But not all love stories have a happy ending after all. Tottenham endured a difficult start to the season taking just 14 points in 12 games in the Premier League, losing 7-2 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages and a shocking loss to Colchester United that saw them exit the League cup.

Owing to the poor performances towards the end of last season and the beginning of this season, Tottenham’s board decided to part ways with the Argentine coach. After constantly qualifying for the Champions League and finishing in the top 4 in the League, it was time for Pochettino to move on. During his tenure at Spurs, Pochettino was constantly linked to the big European clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain but the Argentine remained in London. Now, without a club, there are many rumors linking Pochettino to European clubs. As per reports from Mirror, Pochettino has turned down a £12 million deal to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid in the hopes of getting back to the Premier League, with Manchester City and Manchester United both considering the Argentine as a potential replacements for their current managers.

Pochettino has, for quite some time now, been linked with a move to Real Madrid. Los Blancos are currently second in the La Liga table tied with rivals FC Barcelona. However, Zidane’s future at the club depends on Madrid’s progress in the Champions League where they face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Round of 16. Apparently, Pochettino has been keen t manage Real Madrid in the past too but now fancies his chances on returning to the Premier League. Mauricio Pochettino has long been linked with Manchester United and was touted to take over the helms at the Old Trafford club after Jose Mourinho’s sacking, but the club appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their manager. Now, with rumors of the possibility of Pep Guardiola leaving Manchester City at the end of the season doing the rounds, the club is reportedly considering Pochettino as Guardiola’s successor in such a scenario.

With Pochettino apparently snubbing the opportunity to join Real Madrid, it’s ipso facto a clear sign for the Manchester Clubs to initiate contact with the Argentine and do their best to appoint him as their next manager if the need be.

Will Pochettino change his mind about Real Madrid or will he wait for the Premier League giants to initiate contact?
