Manchester United look so much better with Paul Pogba in the side
By Kian Long
Yesterday’s loss to Watford was frustrating for Manchester United, however, there was one big positive…
Manchester United travelled to Vicarage Road to face Watford in the Premier League. The Red Devils were unbeaten in their previous five league matches, whereas the Hornets were without a win in their last five. So, on paper, there would only be one winner but it didn’t work out that way.
Watford got the win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s men via two costly defensive mistakes. Firstly, David de Gea‘s hands suddenly disappeared as he allowed the weak shot from Ismaila Sarr to go in the top corner he was already covering. Then, Aaron Wan-Bissaka tackled inside the penalty area, granting Troy Deeney yet another penalty goal against United.
It was not the result Manchester United would have wanted heading into the festive season, especially for Solskjaer, who is hanging onto his position by a thread. However, after the two goals were conceded, things looked much better for Manchester United.

They brought on Paul Pogba for his first league appearance since the end of September. His arrival to the playing field marked a turn in form for Manchester United and they were again the better attacking outfit.
Pogba pushed into the final third and played a number of incisive through balls, even managing to nearly get on the score sheet himself. His creative input was appreciated since the attackers were given what seemed to be triple the chances they had received in the first half. It’s just a shame nobody could convert.
Games like this called for the expertise of Paul Pogba. Watford were bound to sit back and defend and their midfielders certainly helped with this. United had no real threat of creativity so their runners were being wasted until Pogba came on the pitch. The scoreline could have been much different if the Frenchman was given a start.
Many will claim that Pogba is playing for a move away but United fans mustn’t care. All that matters is they have their star player back and he’s come back with form. Hopefully, they will not lose him heading into the new year.
