Paulo Dybala’s double vs Lokomotiv Moscow

The first time Juventus met Lokomotiv Moscow this season it was the start of a run of absolutely terrible form. However, it did at least feature one performance that was memorable for a good reason.

Juventus was tied with Atletico Madrid at the top of Group D heading into this match and need a win over Lokomotiv to keep it that way. Juve actually getting that win didn’t seem likely when they reached were still trailing 1-0 with less than 15 minutes left in regulation, but Paulo Dybala would come up huge to get them a win.

His equalizing goal was absolutely incredible. He bent it into the corner from outside the box and left the keeper absolutely frozen. 2 minutes later, he got himself into the right place at the right time to finish the rebound from Alex Sandro’s shot and give Juve the win.

The first goal is one that will end up on the Juve highlight reel for the season and the winner kept Juve in contention for first place in their Champions League group. This was just a special 3 minutes from Dybala and it made Juve’s qualification process much more simple than if they had settled for a draw, or even possibly lost this match. This helped to set the stage for a couple of the other goals on this list (including another from Dybala) because all of the goals together helped Juve to have their most successful Champions League group stage in quite some time.

It’s fitting for Paulo Dybala to open this list with the way that he has bounced back from last season and how he helped Juve bounce back from a poor start in this match.
