Gonzalo Higuain’s winner vs Inter Milan

The aforementioned draw against Fiorentina saw Juve without even a share of first place for the first time since March of 2018. Luckily for them, they had a chance to reclaim their place atop the league just 4 matches later when they met Inter Milan. A great Paulo Dybala finish gave them the lead just 4 minutes into the match, but it was quickly negated by a 18th minute penalty by Lautaro Martinez. The match would remain deadlocked for 62 minutes before Gonzalo Higuain intervened.

Some great passing from Miralem Pjanic, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Rodrigo Bentancur opened up space for Higuain inside Inter’s penalty area. His first touch led him perfectly toward the goal and then he slid a shot past Samir Handanovic to give Juve the lead in the 80th minute that would stand until the final whistle.

This goal didn’t have the high degree of difficulty that the other 4 on this list did, but it did involve some beautiful passing from Juve to set it up and it might actually be the most important goal on this list. This goal reminded everybody that Juve is still Serie A’s top dog even if Inter made big signings this summer and brought in Juve’s former manager. The goal is also the reason that Juve is currently in sole possession of first place in the league and gave them a tiebreaker over Inter that could prove to be very meaningful at the end of the season.

Gonzalo Higuain has played a big part in this list, assisting the last two goals I mentioned, but he really deserved a moment of his own on the list and nothing captures just how important he has been to this team like the goal that put Juve back in their rightful place atop Serie A.
