Tottenham drop points in back-to-back games

The Special One is off to a mediocre start with his new club in London. Tottenham were left frustrated by Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday and they are hoping to avoid the same fate on Wednesday. Their opponents, Southampton, are growing in confidence and climbing the table after earning two victories and a draw in their last three games.

Danny Ings is flying high at the moment with 12 goals to his name and he will cause problems for Tottenham’s shaky defense. Jose Mourinho’s side won three of their six games in December, but their victories were far from convincing. Tottenham are favorites to win, but I think they will return to London with nothing more than a point.

Prediction: Southampton 1-1 Tottenham

Leicester City claim the double over Newcastle United

Newcastle United managed to win three games in December, but they ended 2019 with back-to-back losses against Manchester United and Everton. The Magpies’ loss to Everton over the weekend was their first defeat at home since losing to Arsenal on opening day. Steve Bruce‘s men put up a good fight against the Toffees, but wasted chances doomed their hopes of earning a positive result.

Leicester City come into this clash having won only one of their last four games. As a result, Liverpool now enjoy a 13-point lead over the Foxes in the table. Brendan Rodgers’ side scored five goals the last time these two teams met. Leicester City will not score five this time around, but they will overwhelm Newcastle United’s stubborn defense to score at least twice at St. James’ Park. Look for Leicester City to come out in ultra-attack mode from the opening whistle.

Prediction: Newcastle United 1-2 Leicester City
