The 2010s were an absolutely incredible decade for Juventus.

They reclaimed the Scudetto early in the decade and haven’t let it go since. They have made it to 2 Champions League finals. They have once again become an icon in world football. Here is the squad of players that made this all possible over the last decade:

GK: Gianluigi Buffon

This pick is the definition of a no-brainer. Not only has Gianluigi Buffon been Juve’s best keeper over the last decade, but I would argue that he was the world’s best keeper over the course of the decade.

He led a club built around their defense to a pair of Champions League final appearances and set record for most consecutive clean sheets, most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal, and most clean sheets in a Serie A season. Over the course of this past decade, he was Serie A’s Goalkeeper of the Year 5 times, Best European Goalkeeper twice, and the UEFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year once.

He has too many accolades for me to continue naming and I don’t think his achievements need to keep being listed. We all know how important Gianluigi Buffon has been to Juventus over this past decade and throughout his career and that’s why he spent most of the decade as the team’s captain. He is the most obvious choice to make the Juventus team of the decade.

Honorable Mention: Wojciech Szczesny

Just because Buffon was the obvious choice to make the team doesn’t mean that there isn’t anybody else worth mentioning. Since Buffon left for PSG last summer, Wojciech Szczesny has been absolutely incredible as his replacement, helping to make up for countless defensive lapses from the squad. He might not be able to live up to the legendary keeper who preceded him, but that doesn’t change the fact that Szczesny has been incredible for the last year and a half.
