2019 wasn’t a great year for Juventus.

Juventus was sent home early in the Champions League and Coppa Italia and lost the Supercoppa Italiana to Lazio. They did manage to win the Scudetto by a pretty large margin, but that ad pretty much already been decided by the time 2019 rolled around.

They’ll be hoping to give fans a much better 2020 and I think the fans have plenty to be excited about as the new year gets started.

A Real Scudetto Race

This is something Juve fans didn’t have at the end of last season and it honestly made Juve pretty miserable to watch once they were eliminated from the Champions League and Coppa Italia. At that point, Juve didn’t really have anything left to play for and it showed in their performances. This season, that absolutely won’t be the case.

This year, instead of a 9 point lead at the top of the Serie A table, Juve is tied with Inter Milan for 1st and will be fighting them even step of the way during the second half of this season. They also have Lazio, who has already beaten them twice this season, sitting 3 points behind them in 3rd place. This should bring the best out of Juve as they try to win 3 different competitions and will be challenged in each one.

Maybe some fans like it better when Juve has nothing to worry about in Serie A, but personally, I’m really going to enjoy seeing Juve challenged this year because it will make the next few months much more exciting than what we got in April and May last season. It also might force Juve to continue growing as a club to avoid the stagnation we’ve seen out of clubs like Bayern Munich in the last couple of years after dominating their league for too long.

If nothing else, at least we’ll get some excitement out of the second half of this season.
