Arsenal and Tottenham are battling again but this time, it’s off the pitch…

This transfer window is bound to be exciting for both North London clubs. Both Arsenal and Tottenham recruited new managers after letting go of their former managers recently. They recruited Mikel Arteta and Jose Mourinho respectively, both of which will undergo their first transfer windows with their new clubs.

Obviously, Jose Mourinho has plenty of experience in the transfer window with many critics even claiming this is how the Portuguese manager has claimed his way to fame. Arteta, on the other hand, will have experience in spectating Manchester City splash the cash so he will be hoping to do the same.

According to The Metro, both Tottenham and Arsenal are looking to sign Thomas Lemar of Atletico Madrid. It’s thought that he could be available to bring in on a loan deal.

That said, here are five reasons why Thomas Lemar must choose to sign for Arsenal…

1. Mikel Arteta’s attacking philosophy

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Mikel Arteta during his short period of time as Arsenal manager, it’s that he loves to attack. While a lot of emphases has been placed on his ability to fix Arsenal’s defence, his work on the attack mustn’t be overlooked.

This means that Thomas Lemar would be a key figurehead in the Arsenal XI. A lot of the play would run through some of Arsenal’s senior attackers, with Thomas Lemar being a handy addition.

As an attacker, I don’t think there’s any denying that playing under Arteta is more attractive than playing under Jose Mourinho. Even given the lack of experience, it should be a no-brainer for Lemar.
