Juventus are said to be interested in signing Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri, possibly in January transfer window.
According to Calcimercato, the Italian champions have expressed their desire to strengthen their squad by signing Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri.
The Serie A giants are said to be interested in signing Emerson at the end of the season, but the possibility of completing a January transfer deal is not out of reach.
Emerson clearly wants more game time due to upcoming Euros this summer. The left-back has had only 12 appearances this season, starting only two games in the last seven games.
The chances of impressing his national side to pick him in the Italian national side for the auspicious tournament is only reducing – mainly due to his inconsistency on the pitch.
Frank Lampard prefers to play Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta in the left-back position for Chelsea. The Blues manager has clearly indicated that both Marcos Alosno and Emerson are not his go-to options to start regularly.
Meanwhile, Juventus are currrently locked in with Inter Milan in an intense battle for the Serie A title this season and the Bianconeri wouldn’t mind strengthening their squad by signing Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri in January itself.
The Italian giants only have Alex Sandro and Mattia De Sciglio competing in their full-back positions. It might not be enough in terms of their squad depth options considering their long term aspirations to win the UEFA Champions League.
Emerson is yet to have an impact at the Stamford Bridge since signing from Roma in last year’s January transfer window.
