Gonzalo Higuain 8/10

Gonzalo Higuain continued to impress for Juve on Monday even as a substitute. He scored his 7th goal of the season in an appearance that only lasted for 24 minutes. He continues to show that Juventus needs to find ways to get him on the field and remains one of the club’s best surprises.

Douglas Costa 7.5/10

Douglas Costa made another substitute appearance for Juventus on Monday and he finally got himself his first assist since August. He used his pace and vision to make a run and pick out

Ronaldo running down the left wing. It will be interesting to see if this can earn Costa a starting opportunity as the competition for Juve’s trequartista role gets more crowded.

Emre Can 5.5/10

Emre Can didn’t really have much to do by the time he entered the match with Juve already holding a commanding lead. I’m not really sure why Juve would take him off the market if these are the types of appearances they have planned for him, but maybe he has a start coming his way in the near future.

Manager: Maurizio Sarri 9/10

This match wasn’t perfect for Juventus, but it definitely showed some growth. We started to see Juve’s attack play quicker passes and do more with their possession. There are still plenty of flaws and a lack of talent in the midfield is going to continue to hold the squad back, but this looked like a much better version of Juve than the one we saw against Lazio right before the break. He still has things to fix, like getting Blaise Matuidi out of the starting lineup, but I think that Sarri got the lineup right everywhere else. Hopefully this win helps to keep Juve playing at this high level.
