ST: Lautaro Martinez 8.5/10

Lautaro Martinez won’t be the player who gets the headlines after this match, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t an important part of Inter’s efforts against Napoli. He made a good run on Lukaku’s first goal to draw a defender away and give Lukaku space for his shot. He also got himself in a good position and finished well to put Napoli away with his goal in the second half. He gave Napoli’s defense plenty of trouble in the match and helped keep them off-balance. Lautaro continues to live up to the expectations Inter had when they signed him last summer.

ST: Romelu Lukaku 9.5/10

Napoli didn’t have an answer for Romelu Lukaku in the first half of this match. His first goal was beautiful, with him making a run from his own end all the way into Napoli’s penalty area, where he blasted a shot with his left foot off the inside of the near post. Alex Meret never even had a chance to make the save. His second goal wasn’t nearly as impressive, but it was his power that even made it possible. He absolutely blasted a shot at Meret, which Meret couldn’t hold onto and let slip through his leg for what would end up being the match’s decisive goal. Lukaku’s brace not only allowed Inter Milan to keep pace with Juventus at the top of Serie A, but it also continued an absolutely resurgent run that shows his struggles last year had a lot more to do with Manchester United’s problems than his own. If he keeps playing like this, Inter is going to be unbelievably difficult to stop in the second half of this season.
