Zlatan Ibrahimovic Returned to Milan, What can he Bring to the Table?
The Swedish International Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back for more. After his time in Major League Soccer, he has made a return to AC Milan after almost ten years since joining.
Zlatan scoring a total of 56 goals throughout his stay in Milan, will be looking to increase his tally. Now under coach Stefano Pioli, there could be a chance for him to get some minutes against Sampdoria, who currently sits close to the relegation zone.
Milan is currently seeing itself in the twelveth position. With Zlatan back into their ranks, he could become that crucial extra player that can get some positive results. Going forward with the season as Zlatan progresses and learns with his new teammates, they could be making their way into a European spot in the long-run.
Eight points behind the sixth-place team, Milan will be looking to start a winning streak. Zlatan, along Suso, Calhanoglu, and Piatek, could become a potential threat to Serie A teams. Zlatan is a “perfect” fit for the I Rossoneri as he is an experienced striker that can well off-put incredible goals out of nothing.
During his time in Italy, Ibrahimovic has faced Sampdoria, a total of nine games. Out of those nine games, he’s found the back of the net six times and provided three assists during those encounters.
Zlatan in his debut was substituted in the 55th minute in place of Polish striker Piatek. Zlatan had a few chances to capitalize and send the ball to the back of the net. Sampdoria was a well-organized team that did not crack under pressure. AC Milan was the better side, but could not finish the chances they got to get themselves on the scoreboard.
The match ended in 0-0 draw, but Zlatan did manage to make a positive change in the team’s dynamics, but it wasn’t enough to push their way past a solid Sampdoria.
Milan has secured a fantastic signing that can well off help them in their European quest. Ibrahimovic, who will use the number 21 jersey, will surely have fans eager to see results. Following AC Milan’s transfer release, Zlatan came with a strong statement, “I’m finally here,” Zlatan said, “I will make San Siro jump with joy again.”
Zlatan has a contract with AC Milan until the end of the season but could get extended if he consistently shows good performances. AC Milan’s attacking front just got a whole lot more entertaining and will be an exciting one to follow throughout the season.
