Real Madrid and Chelsea among other suitors may lock horns for one of France’s best youngsters in the defensive midfield role.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has to deal with some transfer rumours and one of the strongest ones surrounds N’Golo Kante, who is thought to be seeking an exit from the Stamford Bridge. The Blues’ star man has been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid in the past, but so far, nothing has developed with either of the clubs.

Frank Lampard is anyway short on options in the defensive midfielder’s role and will look to sign a player to strengthen that role having had his side’s transfer ban being lifted. Fox Sports reports that Lille man Boubakary Soumare has been established on the west Londoners’ radar and they will hope to approach him in this month or the summer.

Lille have a history of producing world-class and talented players down the years with the likes of Eden Hazard, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe being examples in support of it. Chelsea will especially expect a lot from Soumare in case he ends up signing for them given the fact that Hazard became a legend in London.

Boubakary Soumare is thought to have been valued at 20 million euros by the marketers, but his parent club has reportedly made it clear that no bid which goes lesser than a lofty 50 or 60 million euros would be entertained. Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli and Valencia have also shown interest in signing him.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have been one of the most rejuvenated sides from English football of late are apparently in contact with Lille over a switch for the player and have made an offer worth 40 million euros for him. However, Lille are likely to demand bigger and it would be interesting to see what kind of response Wolves have in store for him.
