Barcelona could have their hands on the most logical manager…

Barcelona are going through a patchy run of form as they are without a win in their last two matches. This past Thursday saw the Catalans bid farewell to the Supercopa de Espana, after Atletico Madrid’s late comeback in the semi-final. They remain top of La Liga but more and more fans are growing in favour of hiring a new manager.

According to AS, the Barcelona hierarchy has their Ernesto Valverde successor lined up and witing. The outlet reports, via claims from the Catalan radio station RAC1, that Barcelona have opened the conversation with Mauricio Pochettino, who was fired from Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season.

Mauricio Pochettino is a sensational manager and he could be exactly what Barcelona needs heading forward. The Argentine manager is out of work and he is open to new ventures in Spain, a country which has served him well, as he played for and managed Espanyol.

Pochettino is known for his exceptional work with young players. In fact, he is mainly the reason why the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane are now recognised on a global scale since before working with Pochettino, they were practically nobodies.

With the likes of Junior Firpo, Jean-Clair Tobido and Frenkie De Jong all becoming first team regulars for Tottenham, they could do with working under safe hands for the sake of their future. Pochettino would closely manage these players to ensure they have confidence and get enough minutes on the pitch. After a while, they will look just like their senior peers.

Where it all went wrong for Pochettino at Tottenham was a struggle in power. He was in the right for asking his board for more financial backing but they simply weren’t listening to him. The good news for Pochettino is that he will have plenty of funds to work with should he join Barcelona.
