14. Watford

Watford are finally starting to look the team they were last season. After a terrible start to this campaign, Watford are now out of the relegation zone after defeating Bournemouth on the road. The Hornets are flying high under Nigel Pearson as they have claimed four victories and one draw in their last five games. Watford were the last team in the Premier League to claim their first victory of the season, but they are full confidence now and are chasing a mid-table finish.

13. Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have been bouncing in and out of the top ten, but they are currently ninth in the league table. The Eagles are an interesting team who make every game they are in competitive and they know how to frustrate superior opponents, as we saw in their 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday. Roy Hodgon’s men should be higher in this list of rankings, but they have failed to perform against mediocre and inferior opponents in recent weeks, and this is reflected in their loss to Newcastle United and draws against Brighton, Southampton and Norwich City.

12. Tottenham

This low ranking for Tottenham might come as a surprise to many of you, but they have not been playing like an elite team. Jose Mourinho got off to a fine start with Tottenham when he was announced as their new manager, but his team has now fallen to eighth place as a result of only winning two of their last six games. The other results consist of three losses and a shocking draw against Norwich City.

11. Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton are a top ten team, but they do not always play like a team that is currently competing in the Europa League. Wolverhampton recently defeated Manchester City and were competitive in their minimal defeat against Liverpool, but they also lost to Watford and drew at home to Newcastle United. The biggest problem with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men is that they tend to play down to the level of inferior opponents and that is costing them points.
