The Arsenal manager is going back to his roots to save the club…
Arsenal needs fixing. Nobody out there can convince me otherwise. They are a club that have been in decline for many years now. Mikel Arteta knows it, the players know it and the fans know it. Well, most do. This realisation is important because it’s bound to spark serious change, especially with someone as ferocious as Arteta at the helm.
The transfer window is in full swing and we’re almost approaching the halfway point. In an ideal world, Arteta would have made his first signing for the Gunners but it’s normal for most transfers to happen in the second half of the window. That said, Arsenal fans should expect a busy few weeks ahead.
According to The Sun, Mikel Arteta is planning to make a move for Manchester City John Stones. It’s thought that the deal would be a loan move until the end of the season, where Arsenal will have a plan in place to sign the defenders they think best fit.

John Stones would obviously be a great addition to the Arsenal side and he’d easily slide into the first team. Having nurtured under Pep Guardiola for a few seasons now, he is an expert in the style of play which Arteta wishes to implement at Arsenal.
Stones is very graceful with the ball at his feet. In fact, he looks like a midfielder at times (a position which he can certainly play, I must add). Although this mustn’t overlook his defensive abilities, in which he has improved massively in the last few seasons. He can play the ball out from the back with aplomb but he is a great communicator too so he is rarely caught off guard.
Arsenal have everything they need going forward and their midfield is growing stronger by the day. However, the defensive problem remains a constant which is why it’s good that Arteta has been brought in. He knows how to implement an organised defence so expect a few signings in that department.
Do you think that John Stones is the right option for Arsenal?
