Real Madrid and Liverpool may be in for some major transfer talks with a key man of the Reds opening the door to a move for Spain.

Real Madrid are keen on signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool during the upcoming months, several reports have claimed earlier. The forward is enjoying his best season with the Reds and had an incredible 2019. Frankly, it can be said that it was an injustice to him to not have picked up the Ballon d’Or or FIFA’s The Best Award even though his performances were top-notch.

Sadio Mane was instrumental as Jurgen Klopp’s side won the UEFA Champions League at the end of the 2018/19 season and went onto add two more trophies by the year’s end- the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. Additionally, Mane was also a runner-up at the African Cup of Nations 2019 with his national side, Senegal.

Currently, Liverpool are on the summit of the Premier League by more than a clear margin ahead of Leicester City and Manchester City and they owe a lot of credit to Sadio Mane, who has popped up with some absolutely crucial goals and assists in addition to his consistency that has seen him become one of the top scorers in the league.

Liverpool winning the Premier League this season is an inevitability and only a matter of time while they are also in the FA Cup, so should they end up wrapping up a domestic double then Mane’s challenge at the Anfield may practically have been completed and he could be open to a newer challenge, as per ESPN’s Steve Nicol through Express.

"“When it comes to Real Madrid, anything’s possible, players when they’re linked with Real Madrid, their eyes light up. The question is – what’s this guy all about?”"

Off late, Real Madrid have become a solid defensive unit that has conceded just 12 times in 22 La Liga outings so far in the season but they do lack a bit of tooth in the final third. Sadio Mane is an overall package and may help them in securing that with his goal scoring skills as well as ability to counter attack in a quick manner, something associated with the Whites.

For sure, Mane’s signing would cost the Merengues at least 100 million euros or more, but if they manage to offload Gareth Bale for a handsome amount then it may not be a difficult signing to make due to the Senegal international’s manageable wage demands. But with Mbappe being Madrid’s priority, it’ll be interesting to see how they look at Mane if he wants to leave.
