Juventus absolutely steamrolled Udinese in their first Coppa Italia match of the season to advance to the quarterfinals.

It didn’t take Juve too long to start their party in this match. Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala put on an incredible passing display to set up Gonzalo Higuain to open the scoring in just the 16th minute.

Then Dybala got in on the scoring fun himself. Higuain played a pass to Federico Bernardeschi in the 26th minute that set him up right in front of the goal. Bernardeschi drew contact from Udinese’s keeper to earn a penalty for Juventus. Dybala stepped up and easily buried it. Juventus went halftime with that 2-0 lead.

They didn’t slow down in the second half. 12 minutes into the half, Higuain played a ball out to Dybala on the right wing. Dybala cut inside and curled an absolutely incredible ball over the keeper and into the far corner.

4 minutes later, a shot from Daniele Rugani hit a Juventus defender in the hand to earn a second penalty for Juve. This time it was Douglas Costa who stepped up to the spot and calmly delivered their 4th and final goal. That would also stand as the match’s last goal, giving Juve a 4-0 win.

GK: Gianluigi Buffon 6.5/10

Wojciech Szzesny was given the day off on Wednesday as Juve rotated quite a bit to keep their squad fresh, but it didn’t really matter who was in goal against Udinese. Gianluigi Buffon only ended up facing one shot on goal over the course of a match where Juve’s was in complete control from start to finish. This added another easy clean sheet to Buffon’s legendary career and now we’ll just continue to wait to see which match ends up being his being his record-breaking match.
