Juventus player ratings vs Udinese: Dominant Dybala sends Juve to Coppa Italia quarterfinals
By John Vaccaro
CAM: Douglas Costa 8/10
Paulo Dybala had the chance to score a hat trick in this match. Instead, he allowed Douglas Costa to take Juve’s second penalty of the match and scored his second goal of the season. It was Costa’s first goal in over 2 months and finished off what was already a good performance from him. If he can stay healthy, this match should show Maurizio Sarri that he actually has a competition on his hands for Juve’s trequartista role.
ST: Gonzalo Higuain 9.5/10
Paulo Dybala may have been the star of the show on Wednesday, but Gonzalo Higuain was pretty awesome himself. He scored Juve’s opener to finish off some great passing between him and Dybala. Then he made the pass to Bernardeschi that allowed him to draw the penalty for Juve’s second goal. Then he supplied the assist for Dybala’s fantastic finish on his second goal. He also almost added a second goal for himself, but it was ruled out because Matthijs de Ligt was offside earlier in the play. This was another very strong perfjoamcne for Higuain who continues to make it difficult for Sarri to leave him on the bench.
ST: Paulo Dybala 10/10
This has been an absolutely phenomenal last 4 days for Paulo Dybala. In Sunday’s match against Roma he was directly responsible for both of the team’s goals. Now, he’s added 2 goals and an assist against Udinese on Wednesday. In this match, I’m honestly not even sure what his most impressive moment was. The passing between him and Higuain that got Higuain the opening goal was immaculate. Dybala’s finish on his second was also incredible. Dybala was perfect in this match and that made this an easy win for Juve.
