Sergio Ramos will soon be 34 years old and Real Madrid need to start hunting for his successor in due time. It seems like they have identified their man.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has been one of the world’s best defenders over the last few years and will definitely go down as one of the all-time greats in his position. The Spain international’s biggest asset is his overall ability. Physically, aerially and in terms of pace as well, there are not many who can get the better of the Whites’ veteran man.

In the month of March, Sergio Ramos will complete 34 years and it is high time that the Merengues sign a replacement for him. Raphael Varane is already at the club, but there is no reliable central defender at the moment who can replicate Ramos’ qualities. Nacho has always been a fringe player whereas Eder still has a lot to catch up on to be compared to Ramos.

El Desmarque has reported that Los Blancos will reignite their interest in Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly, who they believe is the ideal replacement to arguably the best central defender in the club’s history. Koulibaly will cost over 100 million euros, but he is at the prime of his career and would certainly be a huge signing for the Whites.

Kalidou Koulibaly has also been targeted by Manchester United, Barcelona and other European giants but nothing has materialized between the player and the interested parties. However, Real Madrid are looking to change that by offer 70 million euros and James Rodriguez for the Senegalese superstar.

Zinedine Zidane is not a big fan of James Rodriguez and if the 13 time European champions do get their hands on Donny van de Beek in the summer, James will have no other option but to leave and Napoli would be a fantastic destination. Having performed well at Bayern Munich and Monaco in the past, there’s no doubt that James will do well in Italy.

Carlo Ancelotti had kept the Colombian midfielder on his radar while he was the boss at the Stadio San Paolo and he has not forgotten about his former colleague even at the Goodison Park. If James does not end up having many chances at Madrid, then his choices are good in case all the rumours are to be trusted.
