CM: Blaise Matuidi

Could this be the end of Blaise Matuidi’s time as a regular starter at Juventus? Maurizio Sarri has yet to indicate that he’ll be sending Matuidi to the bench, but Adrien Rabiot and Rodrigo Bentancur have given us plenty of reason recently to believe that they’ll be the two players starting alongside Pjanic once Bentancur’s suspension is over. Honestly, the move is long overdue. Matuidi has been extremely ineffective this season as he hasn’t had anything to offer in attack and his defensive contributions haven’t often been necessary this year. He’ll get the start against Parma because Bentancur still has another match left on his suspension, but after that things should get very interesting in this Juve midfield.

CM: Miralem Pjanic

Rodrigo Bentancur performed admirably as Miralem Pjanic’s replacement on Wednesday, but it will be Pjanic reclaiming his starting spot on Sunday. Pjanic’s role should continue to grow as Juve’s season progresses and we’ll hopefully see Sarri start to bring the best out of him as a result.  The squad definitely looked like it was improving against Udinese, so hopefully they can continue to grow in this match and Pjanic’s performances improve along with them.

CM: Adrien Rabiot

With Rodrigo Bentancur still sidelined due to suspension i don’t think there’s any way Juve doesn’t start Adrien Rabiot. He is finally looking comfortable in the attacking phase for Juve and came up big on the defensive end in Juve’s last Serie A match. When the season started, I figured Rabiot would be a key piece of this midfield by now, but that hasn’t quite happened yet. However, we’ve reached the point that he might only need one more good showing to make that a reality. Let’s hope it comes against Parma.
