Having had agreements for as many as three players over the last two summers, Chelsea and Real Madrid may be doing business once again.
Real Madrid went on top of La Liga at least provisionally following their win against Sevilla by a 2-1 margin on Saturday afternoon. Casemiro was the Whites’ unlikely hero against the Andalusians and he didn’t score once, but instead grabbed a brace. The Brazil international put in a complete display and justified to the world why he is indispensable from the team.

Zinedine Zidane’s roster boasts some incredible talents, but there is no like-for-like replacement for Casemiro who did have an injury scare midway through the match only for it to be shrugged off. Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos do fill-in into the impeded role, but neither of them are very comfortable playing as a defensive midfielder.
Bringing in somebody to compete with the former Porto loanee is crucial for Zidane and he has added the signing of a defensive midfielder to his list of agendas. Diario GOL has reported that the Frenchman would like to sign his compatriot in N’Golo Kante to his squad in the summer by bringing him in from Chelsea.
Kante is reportedly unhappy at the Stamford Bridge after being asked to play in an advanced role by Frank Lampard, plus, having won every English accolade possible, he is open to a new challenge. The World Cup winner would be a brilliant addition to Real Madrid, who are willing to exchange Vinicius Junior and 50 million euros for his services.
Vinicius Junior has certainly fallen in prominence under Zinedine Zidane, and with Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio close to returning from their injuries, it is almost clear that the Brazilian winger’s minutes will reduce. Rodrygo has anyways been given preference over his compatriot of late and has taken full advantage of it with six goals to his name this season.
Chelsea are in need of a winger, so Vinicius would be a good addition to their squad, but whether they need someone of his profile is doubtful. The 19 year old is a superb dribbler and creates many chances but fails to convert them, exactly like Callum Hudson-Odoi, so the Blues may be better off with someone like Rodrygo who is a goal-scoring out-wide man.
Do you think N’Golo Kante would become a Real Madrid by the end of this year?
