CM: Blaise Matuidi 7/10

Blaise Matuidi played well on the defensive end in this match. He was a big reason why Juve’s defense wasn’t tested for most of the match and he regularly kept Juve in control of possession in this match. He also registered an assist in this match, but I don’t think they should actually impact the way his performance in this match is viewed. His assist didn’t really do anything to put Ronaldo in position to score and Ronaldo was lucky to score that goal anyway. I still believe this was a better Matuidi than we’ve seen in most matches this season, but its definitely not enough to make me think he should be a starter anymore.

CM: Miralem Pjanic 7/10

Miralem Pjanic also helped keep the pressure off Juve’s defense in this match, but he made an important contribution to the attack as well. He played the ball that gave Dybala space on the right wing to send in the cross for Ronaldo’s goal. Pjanic wasn’t as prolific in his distribution as he usually is and one again had a surprisingly low number of touches by his standards. This isn’t quite the Pjanic we were promised when Sarri joined the club, but hopefully that is going to change soon.

CM: Adrien Rabiot 6.5/10

Adrien Rabiot wasn’t quite able to keep up his run of good performances in this match. It wasn’t that he was bad, he just didn’t accomplish much during this appearance. He passed the ball accurately, but his passes never really developed into much. This might not have been his best match, but that shouldn’t discourage Sarri from keeping him in the starting lineup on Wednesday.
