Chelsea were denied by a late goal once again, as 10-man Arsenal came from behind twice to earn a valuable 2-2 draw in a hotly contested London derby.

Chelsea were the better team for the majority of the first half, and came close to scoring twice early on, but both Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson Odoi failed to find the net. They were then awarded a penalty after former Chelsea man David Luiz fouled Abraham inside the box, with the Englishman through on goal.

Luiz was sent off, before Jorginho calmly slotted home the resultant spot kick. Chelsea continued to dominated proceedings, but were unable to add to their lead.

Arsenal came out with more intent and desire in the second half, and got their equaliser through Gabriel Martinelli. After Chelsea lost the ball from a corner, the young Arsenal forward made a darting run from his own box. N’Golo Kante‘s slip allowed him to go clean through and beat the hapless Kepa.

With Arsenal happy to sit back and defend, Chelsea started to dominate proceedings once again. And they were finally rewarded in the 84th minute when César Azpilicueta got in front of Shkodran Mustafi to make it 2-1 after an excellent corner routine.

But their joy was short-lived, as Arsenal got themselves back level just three minutes later. Hector Bellerin was afforded way too much space to cut inside from the right wing and find the bottom corner past Kepa.

It was a frustrating result for Frank Lampard‘s side, who dropped points despite having an extra man for over an hour. Here are the player ratings for the Chelsea players from the game.
