Predicted Juventus lineup vs Roma: Bentancur reclaims starting spot in Coppa Italia
By John Vaccaro
CAM: Douglas Costa
Juventus gave Douglas Costa a shot at the starting lineup in the last round of the Coppa Italia and he played well enough that he should be given another chance here. He ended up scoring a goal in that match and then played pretty well as a substitute over the weekend. That should be enough to convince Juve that they shouldn’t risk Aaron Ramsey here.

Ramsey’s health is always a concern and I’m sure Juve would rather protect him and know he’ll be available for their league matches than risk him here in a less important competition. This is the opportunity I’ve been waiting to see for Costa and I hope he takes advantage because he would be a dangerous addition to Juve’s starting lineup.
ST: Gonzalo Higuain
Paulo Dybala has started every match since the start of 2020, but I believe that streak will end on Wednesday. Gonzalo Higuain deserves this start after only starting the other Coppa match in the first 3 weeks of the year. It’s not like there is exactly some huge gap between Dybala and Higuain right now. Higuain has played well whenever he’s been given starting opportunities and absolutely dominated Udinese last week. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t end up with at least a goal or an assist in this match.
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo
There might not be anybody in the world playing better football than Cristiano Ronaldo right now. He has scored in his last 7 Serie A matches and scored 11 goals in those 7 matches. It’s been his turn to carry Juventus lately after Higuain and Dybala both took their turns earlier in the season. This version of Ronaldo is just what Juve needs to make runs in every competition right now. Let’s hope he can keep this up for another 4 months.
