Juan Cuadrado 6.5/10

Juan Cuadrado had to enter this match near the end of the first half because of Danilo’s injury and he was much better than the last time we saw him play against Roma. He held his own on his wing and didn’t allow opportunities from his side of the field. The fact that he didn’t really need to attack by the time he came on likely helped him focus on the defensive end. Juve will need him to keep playing like this now that they may once again be without another option at right back.

Aaron Ramsey 6/10

leading 3-1, but he still manage to create a couple of chances during his time on the field. He didn’t end up producing a 4th goal, but it was still a positive substitute appearance for him. He’ll be more involved in his next appearance over the weekend.

Blaise Matuidi 5.5/10

Blaise Matuidi came into this match very late on to help Juve preserve their lead, but didn’t really have much to do on that front. He did manage to pick up a yellow card during his short time on the field, but wasn’t really called into action much outside of that. I believe this was the first of many substitute appearances for Matuidi.

Manager: Maurizio Sarri 8/10

Once again Juventus has become hard to read. They played great in the Coppa Italia last week, then struggled offensively against Parma over the weekend. Now they’ve put in another strong Coppa Italia performance against a Roma side that is currently 4th in the league. I don’t know why Sarri can’t get more consistency out of his team, but the important thing right now is that he got the best out of them in this match. He started what is likely the best midfield available to him and it clearly made a difference. Hopefully he realizes this is his best option and continues to use them because that would make a huge difference for Juve the rest of the season.
