Manchester United must be having a laugh with Carlos Tevez

If there’s ever a dictionary definition of panic buy, Manchester United would be pictured underneath…

Manchester United aren’t going through an easy ride of things lately and that’s partly down to the club not investing in the transfer window. They have suffered two 2-0 losses recently, one away at Liverpool and the other at home to Burnley.

While question marks are bound to be drawn over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s future, would it be entirely fair to blame him for Manchester United’s shocker of a season? No, of course not. The players on the pitch are also to blame, as well as the board who, I must add, are usually very proactive in the transfer window and the right signings are usually made.

One name who is getting a lot of Manchester United’s attention is Bruno Fernandes and rightly so, the creative midfielder would massively benefit the Red Devils and he’s the right man for a clear position of need. Another position which Manchester United need to strengthen is their striker role since Marcus Rashford can’t do the job on his own.

More from Manchester United

So, I had a little think about the names which Manchester United could sign; Edinson Cavani would be nice, wouldn’t he? How about a little swipe at Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?

But nope. According to Tuttosport, Manchester United could make a “surprise move” for Carlos Tevez, who is currently playing at Boca Juniors. The 35-year-old has played at Manchester United in their glory days so fans will know all about what he *used to* offer.

I must emphasise the “used to”; I mean, the guy is 35 years old and he isn’t getting any younger. He’s had his time and, in all honesty, he was one of the best strikers in the world during his peak but not anymore.

Manchester United need a young addition. Someone who can come in and learn from the dream career Marcus Rashford has had as a youngster. A player that will come in with a fresh approach and can add a new dynamic of pace and excitement to the United front line. They can’t keep clinging onto their past, they must move forward and adapt to the times.

What do you think? Maybe you have a case for Carlos Tevez being a top signing, in which case I would love to hear it. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
