CM: Blaise Matuidi 3.5/10

I was shocked to see Blaise Matuidi in the starting lineup for this match. Adrien Rabiot has been playing well and the attack was substantially more dangerous without Blaise Matuidi in the lineup. Then we got this nonsense. Unsurprisingly, the attack stalled with Matuidi back in the starting lineup and he had absolutely nothing to offer this squad. I really hope this is a wake-up call and we see Adrien Rabiot in the starting lineup from now on.

CM: Miralem Pjanic 5/10

Remember the middle of this week when Miralem Pjanic played great and I said it was partially because Juve finally put some help around him? Well, that help disappeared in this match and his performance suffered because of it. Juve’s creator creating a grand total of 0 shots on target for Juve is unacceptable regardless of who’s around him, so I’m not going to let him slide because Matuidi stunk again. To make matters worse, he was forced to leave the match early in the second half with an injury. Just when it looked like Juve was finally getting their midfield figured out, it’s turned into a disaster again.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur 7/10

Rodrigo Bentancur was the only Juventus player I actually thought played well in this match. He wasn’t able to rescue the sinking ship that was their attack, but he played a strong defensive match. He also played a really nice long ball to assist Ronaldo’s goal. Hopefully he has some more of that passing up his sleeve because he’s going to become Juve’s playmaker if Pjanic’s injury forces him to miss matches.
