CAM: Paulo Dybala 6/10

I actually thought that Paulo Dybala was the best of Juve’s strikers during his time on the field. He passed the ball well and at least looked like he showed up to play in this match. He, unfortunately, didn’t get to finish this match and never even attempted a shot. I think this will be the end of Juve’s experiment with all 3 strikers and we’ll see Dybala back at his best when he returns to playing up front next weekend.

ST: Gonzalo Higuain 5.5/10

He wasn’t able to make the difference against his former team, but Gonzalo Higuain looked like the Juve player who was most likely to score in this match. 3 of Juve’s 4 shots on target came off of his feet. Unfortunately, none of those 3 shots was particularly close to scoring and he wasn’t able to do much with his passing ability thanks to his limited service. I believe he’ll be heading back to the bench following this failure from Juve’s triumvirate.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo 6.5/10

Cristiano Ronaldo managed to score a goal late in this match to extend his scoring streak to 8 matches, but it was still easily his worst performance in over a month. This match highlighted why I believe Messi is a better player than Ronaldo. When Juve was struggling, Ronaldo couldn’t do anything to lift the squad up and had very little offer without service for most of the match. When his squads struggle like this, he drops deeper and makes plays himself. This match was awful for just about everybody on Juve and that absolutely includes Ronaldo. The only reason his grade isn’t lowered is that he managed to score that consolation goal.
