Luis Suarez is expected to be on the Barcelona treatment table for many months…

With Luis Suarez out of action, Barcelona need to think carefully about their transfer strategy. There are still a few days left of the transfer window and as we have seen in the past, clubs like to leave deals until the last minute so it wouldn’t surprise me to see Barcelona land a striker in the final days of January.

With that being said, here are three striker options for Quique Setien to consider…

1. Dusan Tadic

The signing which seems the most likely at this point in time is Dusan Tadic, currently playing in the Netherlands for Ajax. The former Southampton man has plenty of experience at all stages of the top-level so he would be ready for the Barcelona move.

Having played 20 Eredivisie games, he has scored eight goals and provided a whopping 14 assists. This tells you all you need to know about Tadic’s immense creative style of play. He is very much a skilful player and he is able to take the shot on himself but he would much rather involve his teammates in the game.

This will benefit the likes of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, who like to get on the score sheet themselves and will thrive on all the creativity they can get. Tadic’s passes seem simple on the eye but he relies on the movement of others to make things tick. Since Barcelona’s attack is very fluid and receptive to quick passes, Tadic could be the one to bring the spark out.
