Juventus has saw their control of the top of the Serie A table begin to slip away last weekend, but they have a chance to right the ship against Fiorentina on Sunday.

Their loss to Napoli has suddenly given both Lazio and Inter Milan the chance to either tie or pass them for the top spot in the league if they drop points against Fiorentina on Sunday. The loss also brought a 5 match winning streak to an end for Juve.

Fiorentina has also had a some recent disappointments as their most recent match was a 2-1 Coppa Italia loss to Inter and their last Serie A match saw them draw Fiorentina at home. Those two poor results followed a surprising 3 match winning streak where they managed to beat Atalanta in the Coppa and then win away to Napoli. They are currently in 13th place in the league, but are only 6 points away from a spot in next season’s Europa League. A win over Juve would certainly help their cause.

Juve will be shorthanded as always on Sunday. Giorgio Chiellini, Sami Khedira, Merih Demiral, Mattia De Sciglio, and Danilo all remain sidelined for Juventus with no scheduled return dates for any of them yet. They will still play in their usual 4-3-1-2 formation.

GK: Wojciech Szczesny

He probably could have done a better job pushing the ball out of danger on Napoli’s first goal last weekend, but just one disappointing moment isn’t going to change Wojciech Szczesny’s place in this Juve squad. He has still been one of their best players all season long and Juve isn’t going to start messing with the things that made them successful all season when they have Lazio and a strengthened Inter Milan squad breathing down their necks. This is going to remain Szczesny’s spot throughout this Scudetto race.
