Liverpool could lose Ballon d’Or nominee to Juventus in summer

Nobody can deny Liverpool are the best team in the world right now. The champions of Europe are yet to lose a single league game and they are home to some of the best players in the world. Jurgen Klopp has matured his men to being real world-beaters and Juventus are keeping a close eye on this project.
According to The Sun, Juventus are already plotting their summer overhaul and their main transfer target will be Virgil Van Dijk of Liverpool. The Old Lady, after managing to secure Cristiano Ronaldo a few summers ago, are not done with their project to win Champions League football.
It was Van Dijk that was pivotal to Liverpool in their European triumph last season and it is down to him that they remain front-runners this season. It just goes to show how worthy the investment to bring him to Anfield from Southampton really was.

Giorgio Chiellini has been Juve’s best player so far this season but he is nearing the end of his career. Ageing at 35, the Turin giants will feel they need to invest in a younger player to partner Merih Demiral. Van Dijk is in the prime stages of his career, ageing at 28 years old, so he would be the perfect successor to Chiellini should Juve wish this summer.
Van Dijk is a broad and tall player and he uses his physicality to his advantage; it’s a rarity that any attacking player will dribble past the Netherlands international. So much so, there seems to be a celebration on social media whenever somebody does.
Come the summer, the Liverpool board will anticipate Juventus to be sniffing around and they will have their guard up. However, The Sun have reported Juve will open their bidding with a £150m offer so they will have a good start to their pursuit. Still, Liverpool fans will say Van Dijk is priceless and they’d be right in doing so.
