The Real Madrid man has been linked with a move away for some time now…

Gareth Bale has been in better form this season than he was last time out. While he hasn’t exactly set the world alight in Spain, the Welsh forward has shown an improvement which was enough for Real Madrid to keep him in January. However, whether they will try to sell him in the summer remains to be seen.

According to the Daily Star, Gareth Bale didn’t move back to Tottenham, who reportedly tried to sign him, because his agent felt he was out of their league financially.

This would suggest that Bale will only move to a club that can afford to pay his extortionate and, in my opinion at least, ridiculous wage demands.

Indeed, the Star have also reported that the options which Bale will consider are a move to China or the MLS. As we’re all aware, Chinese football is making a major push to be considered as one of the top football leagues in the world, so a lot of money is being invested into this scheme.

A number of players have been criticised for selling themselves to China but if the money and opportunity to play football is there, why wouldn’t top players want to play in such a league? After all, football is very much a business just as much as it a game nowadays, it pains me to say.

Gareth Bale put in an excellent performance when his side faced Getafe at the start of the new year but since then he is yet to make an appearance for Real Madrid. It’s clear that Zinedine Zidane isn’t the biggest fan of the Welshman so if he chooses to sell Bale to China in the summer, it wouldn’t come as a surprise.
