Barcelona are not giving up on Arsenal’s talisman…
This season has been just another day at the office for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He is Arsenal’s top goal scorer and is mounting a push for the golden boot, he has claimed the captain’s armband from Granit Xhaka and he has been linked with a lucrative move to a huge European club in Barcelona.
The Catalan side tried to sign Aubameyang in the January transfer window but Arsenal managed to keep ahold of him, much to their delight. According to The Mirror, Barcelona will continue their pursuit of Aubameyang in the summer, with technical director Eric Abidal revealing he is a big fan.
Barcelona’s main man, Luis Suarez, is undergoing treatment on the medical table and he could be sidelined for many months. The Uruguay international has led the line in Catalonia for many years so his absence will surely be felt.

There were many calls for Barcelona to sign a replacement in the January window so that the void wouldn’t be too big but fans were frustrated when come the end of the transfer window, their side had not signed a striker.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would have been the perfect man for Barcelona. His playing style revolves around his movement off the ball and he is a clinical finisher. He is often available for the pass to be made to him as he likes running in behind the opposing defence, so Barcelona’s creative force would have had a field day providing the balls to him.
Arsenal are rumoured to invest plenty of funds into the summer transfer window so they may be more inclined to let Aubameyang go then. Despite ageing at 30 years old, he is still playing some of the best football of his career so he will likely set Barcelona back several million.
